About our Courses

We provide professional development training to the public affairs industry so that we are able to provide the best pool of public affairs officers to our recruitment clients.

Given the versatility of public affairs officers, you can be doing media one day and organising a publication the next - and there are few places to go that will allow you to learn how to conquer a subject in a day.

Our courses are also attended by significant numbers of Australian Public Service (APS) officers whose roles require the use of skills within the public affairs field eg dealing with the media, professional writing skills, recruitment and other areas.

We believe that training should be fun, fast-paced and, above all, practical. We aim our courses at those who need to get across a topic quickly and go back to their workplace and put their newfound knowledge to use immediately.

We don't teach knowledge that will date. We teach the underlying principles that can be applied to any situation.

Our Statistics  

As at the end of November 2010, we've trained some 1001 officers in 207 organisations.

• Over 40% have returned to do a second, third, fourth and, increasingly, a fifth standard course with us.
• 45% of attendees were referred to us by a colleague.
• 44% of attendees booked a course after reading one of our publications: Course News,Job Alert! or Professional Way.

Attendees rated themselves, across all courses, as having an average 69% increase in knowledge as a result of attending one of our courses.

Our training courses are rated very highly by our candidates.

• 98.5% of attendees say our course content is good to excellent (the average rating is 4.3 out of 5)
• 90.8% of attendees rate our course presenters as very good (4 out of 5) or excellent (5 out of 5).
• 98.5% of attendees rate our course presenters as good (3 out of 5), very good (4 out of 5) or excellent (5 out of 5).
