Our Vision
The company’s vision is to be the recruiter of choice for Australian and International employers (public or private sector) seeking public affairs officers, and for candidates seeking a public affairs position.
Our mission is to provide the best pool of public affairs officers to our client base. We do this through close relationships with our candidates and time spent improving their CVs, understanding of what employers are looking for, the provision of professional development training opportunities and good old-fashioned advice from senior industry peers.

Who are We?
We are experienced public affairs officers who have worked at senior levels in a range of Commonwealth Government portfolios and in the private sector, and who are now in the business of assisting up and coming public affairs officers to obtain short-term, long-term and permanent appointments in Government (both Federal and State) and in the private sector.
We have experience in:
- conducting major Commonwealth information campaigns;
- advising Government agencies on navigating their way through the Ministerial Committee on Government Communications process;
- managing the public affairs profiles of Government and private sector agencies; and
- recruiting and managing public affairs, policy, administrative and other staff.
We aim to enhance the skills and experience of candidates throughout their public affairs career to create a rich pool of talent for the range of client needs that exist.
When Did We Start?
Our first request for a public affairs officer was received in March 2000 - while we were running another company. After being convinced of the need for a recruitment agency to specialise in this field, we decided to create a new entity solely to undertake the recruitment work. So, on 6 December 2000, The Public Affairs Recruitment Company Pty Ltd was born.
Why Specialise in Public Affairs?
The public affairs market in Canberra is different. Heavily focussed on major Government information campaigns, it needs well-rounded multi-skilled public affairs officers across a range of disciplines. The Australian Capital Territory is also home to the Head Offices of many industry associations and national organisations which form a large commercially-orientated market and that also needs access to the best.
There wasn't a recruitment agency focussed solely on the addressing the needs of the public affairs industry. So we stepped in to fill the gap. Being experienced in the public affairs field as well as in senior management positions, we decided our skills could best be used to develop the market …and given our growing client base and the positive feedback about the arrival of the service, we know we have made the right decision.
